Hi, I’m Jaya :)
I’m a multi-disciplinary artist with 15 years of experience as a graphic designer in the fashion industry. My main work focus is creating sellable Juniors generic/licensed-based graphics as well as developing a wide range of textile designs. As a personal focus I’m here to be a a place were art and magic meet :)
EXPERIENCE
Hybrid Apparel, Juniors/Girls Graphic Designer, Los Angeles, CA — 2013-2019
During my time at Hybrid, I focused on creating apparel graphics and all-over-prints for stores such as Amazon, Walmart, Ross, Forever 21, and Rue21. The licenses I worked on included Disney, Marvel, Peanuts, NASA, and Barbie amongst many others. On a monthly basis I also created several inspiration/mood boards based on emerging trends.
KWDZ, 4-6x girls graphic designer; Los Angeles, CA — 2010-2013
On a daily basis I created treatment-heavy graphics for stores like Justice, Belk, JcPenney, and Macy’s focusing mainly on girl’s 4-6x. Aside from graphics I also worked on developing rhinestud placements as well as occasional CAD work.
Drifter, Menswear/Graphic Designer; Compton, CA — 2008-2010
I designed high end men’s knit tees and outerwear as well as help develop washes and treatments for stores like Nordstrom’s and Macy’s. I also did graphic designs for Forever21 mens.
Eva Franco, Freelance Graphic Designer, Eva Franco; Los Angeles, CA — 2008-2009
As a freelancer for Eva Franco I sketched complicated dress and separates as well created look books and layout designs for business cards and logos
